Charlene Francis
has a practice that emphasizes estate planning, federal estate taxes
as well as all other federal and state transfer taxes, (including generation
skipping taxes) estate and trust administration, probate, probate litigation,
domestic adoptions and domestication of foreign adoption decrees. Additionally,
Ms. Francis has substantial experience in charitable gift planning,
other lifetime gift planning issues, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements,
guardianships and elder law, including planning for Medicaid issues.
Ms Francis represents various individuals including executives in publicly
traded companies, entrepreneurs, successful business owners and retirees.
Ms Francis also represents corporate fiduciaries.
Ms. Francis is a member of the Florida Bar
(member of Real Property and Probate, Tax, and Elder Law Sections),
the Jacksonville Bar Association (member of Real Property and Probate
and Tax Sections), the Northeast Florida Estate Planning Council and
the Planned Giving Council. She has spoken at several estate planning
and elder law seminars.
Ms. Francis earned her B.S. in 1973 from
Florida State University. She was awarded and M.S. in 1978 and a J.D.,
with honors, in 1986, both from the University of Florida, where she
graduated in the top ten percent of her class and was a member of the
Order if the Coif and the Law Review. She earned her L.L.M.
in Taxation in 1993, also from the University of Florida.
